An event on "Azerbaijan in the Global Sustainable Development Goals Index" was organized by the Ministry of Economy and the UN Mission in Azerbaijan.

Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov emphasized the importance of the implementation of the commitments made under the UN's global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). presented and said that during the past period, more than 30 state programs, strategies and action plans covering social, economic and environmental fields in the country have been integrated into the goals and objectives of the SDGs. At the same time, it was noted that the action plan of the "2022‒2026 socio-economic development strategy" approved in accordance with "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for socio-economic development" was adapted to the goals and objectives of the SDGs.

As a result of the work done, in the "Sustainable Development - 2022" report published annually by the UN specialized organization Development Solutions Initiative and Cambridge University for the purpose of analyzing the implementation of the SDGs, Azerbaijan advanced 5 points compared to 2021 and scored 73 out of a possible 100 points. .5 points and ranked 50th among 163 countries.
